On a lotus sits Brahma, the creator. Brahma opens his eyes and the world comes into being, and he closes his eyes and the world goes out of being. So speaks the lore in Hinduism. The lotus flower reflects spiritual awakening, purity, potential, rebirth, creation and eternity. It is the spiritual symbolism tied to Egyptology, Hinduism and Buddhism. Nazakat – delicateness, finesse. Isn’t she just? You see her for a moment, breathless, intense, still – and you wonder what’s on her mind. ‘Her mother looked back at her as her father drove. Her long black hair was glistening in the flickers of light passing through the window. Looking at her mother, she admired her mother’s flawless pearlescent skin. Her mother was beautiful and she herself looked nothing like her’, she thought. The mul cotton is what we call ‘made in heaven’ at Suta. Known in West Bengal as mul mul, the fabric is buttery soft and delicately beautiful.
